Every host city has at least one fan fest with a big screen, bars and cafés for the fans to hang out in and watch the football. This morning we went to Manaus’ fan fest at Ponta Negra.
Like many of the others in Brazil the big screen was on a golden beach but here it’s not on the sea but on the Amazon river with the jungle in the background.
The match which was on was Columbia v Greece. All of the crowd were Columbian and every time they scored they went crazy and ran around even though it was over 30 degrees.
We both thought we would bump into our crazy Columbian friend from São Paulo airport but he wasn’t there. I guess he was in the stadium cheering on his country and trying to get on tv.
