Premier league – the season so far

What a season it has been so far!

League leaders Chelsea are cruising. They have absolutely dominated every team they have played and have only dropped two points which was away at Man City which they would have won if it wasn’t for their own legend Frank Lampard scoring against them! Their star players have been the league’s joint top scorer Diego Costa who has taken the premier league by storm, Cesc Fabregas who is a big reason for this because he has assisted him on numerous occasions and Hazard has been influential as always. Who will beat them? Surely they can’t repeat Arsenal’s incredible unbeaten season!

Only Man City can compete with them and are a few points behind so it looks like it will be a two horse race for the title unless Arsenal can make a remarkable comeback!

The surprise package has certainly been Southampton who many thought were going to struggle this season after having a depleted squad from losing their key players in the summer. But they have shocked everyone with their new signings being arguably better than their previous stars and manager Ronald Koeman taking them to a new level than they were under Mauricio Pocchetino. Their recent 8-0 demolition against Sunderland is a perfect example of their quality and confidence as a team. New players like Pelle and Tadic have been incredible and have shown that not all players take a season to settle in!

My team Arsenal have been as mercurial as ever and quite disappointing considering the amount of talent we have. It has been frustrating with the amount of injuries we have had with key players like Giroud, Debuchy and Ozil all long term injuries but we have still got enough quality to beat teams like Hull. The fixture list has also been unkind playing Chelsea, Man City and Tottenham already and we have drawn too many games. But things are starting to get better as players are coming back like Theo Walcott who was a big miss for us and with him, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck up front we will be full of pace and hopefully start to climb up the table!
