Arsenal v Man City: Biggest game of the season so far

The last game before Christmas and what a cracker it was!

It was a battle between the true title contenders this season. Leicester are top at the moment (never thought I would say that) but they should fade out soon. It is a two horse race in many people’s minds.

Leicester will however be top at Christmas having been bottom last year showing how amazing their transformation has been. Players like Vardy and Mahrez will definitely be wanted in January. They have basically switched with Chelsea this year! Who would have guessed that?

It was a great game with both teams going for it shown by the many fouls. It was nice to see a team not park the bus against us and if anything we were actually doing it a bit. Man City showed off their attack with in form De Bruyne coming very close to scoring the opener.

They dominated possession but we always looked comfortable. We were also efficient as we out of nowhere broke the deadlock. Ozil (this is getting boring now) got another assist but Walcott still had a lot to do. It was a great goal as his shot curled around Joe Hart.

1-0 to the Arsenal and we got another one just before half time. Guess who assisted it as Giroud clinically added another goal this season? Ozil now has 15 assists this season and is just 5 behind legend Thierry Henry’s premier league record with 21 games still to go! He has got more league assists in 2015/16 than Man United and Chelsea’s whole squads. He also apparently played with a chest infection that made him train just once this week. What a player!

So 2-0 to us at half time but I knew Man City would come out fighting in the second half.

We actually played better in the second half with more chances and forced some good saves from Hart. Man City had to replace star Aguero who was quiet but he had just come back from injury and looked to have picked up another one. This didn’t effect them as man mountain Yaya Toure scored one of the goals of the season!

It came out of nothing just like Walcott’s goal as he placed it into the top corner from distance. Cech was left helpless and so now he has to wait at least another game to break the clean sheet record.

After their goal it was very nervy but we could have killed the game off. Fortunately it ended 2-1 which was my prediction and what a result that is. This meant that we are only 2 points behind Leicester once again but more importantly four points ahead of City who are third.

Along with the imminent record breaking of Ozil and Cech, Flamini also has a credible stat. He has still never lost a league game at the Emirates Stadium. Who needs Coquelin or Cazorla or even Sanchez as Joel Campbell once again played very well?

So we will be 2nd on Christmas Day which is the position we were in the last two times we won the league. This has to be our best chance to win the title since the invincibles!
