A new year and that means the start of the winter transfer window.
This transfer window is usually never as good as the summer one because of teams not wanting to get rid of players but it has still produced some big signings in the past. Teams also have to spend more though to buy as teams need to replace and this is why sometimes not much happens.
Arsenal are supposedly in the market and Wenger said we could make at least one signing. This one signing could be a defensive midfielder which we need as Coquelin is still injured.
Rumours have linked us to Elneny from Basel (who I, like many people, haven’t heard of) but apparently he is good and we do need cover in that position. He would be quite cheap as well but should we try to get someone better? Is there anyone better available for a decent price?
I’m sure Wenger and Arsenal have been looking and still are and I trust their judgement like always.
Will we get anyone else? Maybe a striker although I can’t see it at the moment and we would have to pay a lot more if we buy now. Giroud and Walcott have done very well but someone like Aubameyang would be perfect.
He is quick, strong and a good finisher (like Henry) as shown by scoring the most goals this season in all the major leagues. If we got him it would only enhance our chances this season and really strike fear into other teams.
Apparently Wenger tried to get him in the summer but he decided to stay at Dortmund and he probably will do the same this time but you can never say never with transfers.
Whatever happens this month hopefully it will only strengthen our title ambitions and help us drive on, along with our injured players coming back which will feel like having new players.
What will happen? Who will we sign? Who should we sign?
