Chelsea v Arsenal Review: Wenger In or Out?!

Just as Claude said on Arsenal fan TV, ‘the milk’s gone stale’, is it finally time for Wenger to go? After another poor result and performance which leaves us realistically out of the title race for another season, a lot of fans have had enough.

With the team selection I thought Welbeck should have started and he proved me right when he came on with 20 minutes left and did more than any other player. Lucas Perez should have at least been on the bench but he was nowhere to be seen for some reason. I also thought Gibbs should have started but he was also on the bench but other than that it was a decent team with a lot of pace up front.

Chelsea showed why they are the better team than us at the moment as they scored early on from a controversial goal from Alonso. Was Bellerin fouled? I didn’t think it was a foul but I have definitely seen them given. Walcott should have tracked back though and helped Bellerin who had to come off after the challenge as he fell heavily on the floor.

We did have some chances to score but we weren’t clinical enough and it stayed 1-0 to them until half time.

In the second half we were simply outplayed and dominated and couldn’t cope with their players. Hazard scored arguably the goal of the season as he did a solo run with nobody tackling him. It was poor defensively from us but you have to give him credit as well.

To make matters worse ex Arsenal player and captain Fabregas made it 3-0 following a horrible blunder from ex Chelsea goalkeeper Cech (how ironic) and this was too much to handle for me. Fair play to Fabregas though as he didn’t celebrate and respected us at least.

We did get a consolation goal from substitute Giroud at the end but it meant nothing and we lost a game we had to win. A lot of players let themselves down once again including supposedly world class players Özil and Sanchez who do seem to go missing in the big games but the whole team didn’t perform and Chelsea were better than us in every position.

We are now 12 points behind Chelsea and the title looks at our our reach for another season. Once again we find ourselves in a battle for top four and this season it will be arguably the hardest as there are 5 teams that could easily finish there or miss out.

I think we will finish in the top four above Spurs as we somehow always manage to but is this enough for us? More and more fans want Wenger out now and are fed up of the same thing every season but are they being realistic?

I don’t know if a new manager will make us worse or better but maybe it’s worth a try. I would like Wenger to end on a high though but will this happen? Is it time for change? Who should replace Wenger if he leaves?
