After the very intense draw against Man City it got even more heated after the game with the Arsenal fans.
Obviously there has been a lot of anger towards the club and manager and before the game we also saw a van which said ‘In Wenger We Trust’ with the ‘T’ crossed out so it said ‘In Wenger We Rust!’ This was followed by Ivan Gazidis’ quote saying Wenger should go if the relationship between the manager and the fans breaks down over time.
So my step dad and I usually always go to watch Arsenal Fan TV after the game but this time it was very different as the fans started fighting amongst each other. There were also fights apparently during the game as well so it shows that some fans have had enough and the mood is toxic.
It started as it usually does with there being a lot of people surrounding Robbie and the interviewee so we looked in from the back as usual to take a photo.
Then it all kicked off when regular Claude was about to do his interview and three guys came out of nowhere and started shouting abuse and pushing Robbie and Moh. I heard them say ‘it’s embarrassing and a joke’ and it kicked off from there.
It was completely crazy and it all happened so quickly as everyone was getting jostled and Robbie and co were pushed quite a long way until I couldn’t see them. Robbie completely vanished (I don’t blame him) and Claude was taken away by fans as it all got out of control.
Other fans then shouted and pushed each other before it eventually calmed down and we left. The interviews did happen later on but I wouldn’t be surprised if something like this happened again if not worse. Imagine if we had lost the game!
Those fans who started on Robbie though went about it completely the wrong way and were obviously looking to fight and shout at anyone. Robbie doesn’t deserve that at all no matter what they think of him or Arsenal Fan TV.
Hopefully there will not be another incident like this again and the fans can all come together to support the team until the end of the season. The team desperately need us to help them finish in the top four again as well as maybe winning the FA Cup but even if we don’t achieve these things the fans can’t fight each other.
We all want the same thing and it looks really bad across social media. All other teams fans are laughing at us and we need to show we support the team through the hard times better than this. Fighting should never be an option. People do have a right to express their opinions though and Arsenal Fan TV is the best way of doing that!
Keep it up Robbie and co and try not to let those stupid fans affect you too much!
