After we found out Sugarloaf was closed we jumped into a taxi to go to Corcavado. It was the weirdest taxi journey ever.
After a while the driver put on some 80’s electro-pop including Erasure and A-ha. When A-ha’s song was on the taxi driver started singing along (“Take on me”) and James then started doing the backing vocals (“Take me on”). I was about to do the really high bit but when he turned a corner it was like in slow motion as he almost ran over an innocent woman! The car stopped with about an inch to spare. He rolled down the window and they both started shouting and blaming each other.
At least we got to Corcovado in one piece… just.
